Colorado was nothing short of breathtaking this week, with my second trip to the snowy state wrapped up! Traveling is always exhausting, but I feel nothing short of grateful for the fact that I get to see so many beautiful places thanks to the career path I chose.
The ART hotel in downtown Denver was like staying in a museum. Modern, clean and contemporary this was by far one of the most unique hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Breckenridge may quickly become one of my new favorite cities traveled. It’s quaint mountain town feel, mixed with its gorgeous scenery was the perfect combination, although my body FELT that altitude change hard.

This weekend had me fondly looking back at our engagement photos as we continue to prep for arguably the biggest day of our lives. Sometimes it still blows my mind that I’m already twenty three, about to get married, and start a new chapter of my life. Life has been busy, and I realized I forgot to post something for Valentine’s Day! So Philip, here you go!
Philip and I met in college via mutual friends, and it’s sometimes strange to think about the events that had to take place for us to meet. Life really does have a funny way of working itself out. After talking to him the first night we met I knew instantly that we wanted the same things out of life. For those who know us personally, they can speak to how opposite we are in personality. Philip is reserved, even tempered and extremely considerate, and I’m, well….me. The polar end of extroverted, high strung, and overly ambitious. We both have a strong dedication towards our families, a desire to see the world, grow in our careers, and someday have a family. And we both exhibit a deep passion for tacos (@ Conado).
I wanted to share my three favorite engagement shots, as you don’t utilize nearly all of them through save the dates, etc. and as a late Vday tribute. My wonderful friend Megan Logsdon took them (hit her up if you’re in Columbus, she’s amazing!) in some of our favorite spots around the city.
So here’s to you my Valentine, I sure am thankful that everything fell into place to meet you.
I have so much to reflect on with the closing of 2017, this year has been quite a whirlwind of different feelings, with massive changes coming out of this year. Things have been insanely busy (as always!), but 2017 seemed to be the year of excessive busyness.
The year started with an exceptional amount of travel, for both work and for personal reasons. I was able to be in my home state of Michigan multiple times, visiting both Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids. I then hit Minneapolis, and experienced my first trip (solo) to the Mall of America, as well as Gainesville Florida. Philip and I also were able to treat ourselves on a post-graduation trip to Orlando, for Philip’s first ever trip to Disney World. I rounded out with a trip to Georgia to visit UGA, and was able to visit family who lives in Atlanta. And as always, multiple trips to NYC for work, and the best food on earth. I am optimistic that 2018 will be a year full of seeing new places.
My personal life saw an immense amount of change this year as well. The largest by far being our engagement! Philip and I have been together for three years, and he proposed in September on my paren’ts wedding anniversary, at one of our favorite spots at Ohio State where we met. Our wedding will be in early October and we couldn’t be more excited! I also learned that I will be welcoming my first nephew come April, he will be incredibly well dressed. I also moved into a new apartment closer to downtown Columbus, with Darby dog of course by my side.
Here’s to a year of happiness, change, and growth!
