Pajama Set: TopShop

My bachelorette party was a massive success thanks to my wonderful maid of honor, and all of my amazing friends! We went with a slumber party theme and booked a hotel suite bc staying in is life. I was in love the Topshop satin set I ordered, and I’m so bummed I didn’t get a picture of my slippers bc I’m OBSESSED (+ inexpensive).
I decided to keep things more low key v. going out and getting wasted bc let’s be honest, I’m a Grandma. The Leveque Hotel in downtown Columbus did not disappoint with our suite! The entire hotel itself is gorgeous, but I was so impressed with our room! We’re almost a month out and it is getting REAL.

We celebrated my final bridal shower this weekend and it could not have been more perfect. The setting & decor were stunning, my Mom and three sister in laws did an absolutely amazing job! Asterisk in Uptown Westerville had such a great table set up, and a perfect atmosphere. I was also extremely pleased with my shower dress that I ordered online (that’s now on sale!) it fit like a glove & was perfect for the August heat.

The past week I have been craving Autumn like no other. It has always been my favorite season for a multitude of reasons, but I always find myself eagerly wishing for spring to retire and for fall to resurface. I’m sure in a couple of months I’ll be hating myself for saying this (cue 6 months of Ohio’s unbearable winter).
German Village has always been one of my favorite burrows of Columbus, especially during Autumn, but Summer also has its perks. The brick streets, unmatched small businesses and stunning old homes make it a must see. Philip & I frequent Katzingers Delicatesen and Stauf’s for lunch & the best coffee you will ever have. We stopped in at a local plant shop, Stump, and picked up our first plant to attempt to take care of (we’ve managed to keep Darby alive, so I’m feeling pretty confident). The staff was insanely friendly, there was a cute pup greeting us at the door, and our new Snake Plant came with a little guide on how to take care of it, so honestly if we kill it we have no one to blame but ourselves.
Here’s to Sundays!

Another photo journey of our trip to Mackinac Island!
Top: Madewell (dupe: Madewell),
Overalls: Abercrombie & Fitch,
A trip to Mackinac Island used to be an every summer occurrence when I still lived in Michigan. The trip over the Mackinac bridge into the Upper Peninsula & the ferry ride in felt like something out of a movie. I absolutely loved being able to have Philip experience this magical place.
Our two hour bike ride did not disappoint, as we had perfect weather! 8 miles around the perimeter of the island, with a view you seriously cannot beat. Honestly I haven’t been on a bike in probably ten years and it was amazing. The turquoise water so clear you can see your feet, & the breeze coming off the lake make it the perfect summer destination.

6/18/94, my date of birth & a day that not until recently has snuck up on me. As a child I would have my birthday list planned out a month in advance for my parents, and my party planned as early as I could possibly have it. But this year felt different.
Priorities have heavily shifted this year, and I find myself reminiscing a lot on my birthdays past. I have fond memories of my Sweet 16 surrounded by everyone I went to high school with singing me happy birthday. My 18th I spent the day on the beach, my 21st out at bars with my close college friends, and my 22nd again on the water. This year taking a day off of work to relax and enjoy time with family and Philip seemed to trump all of those. I can’t tell if I’m becoming wise, or just really boring.
With this, here is some advice for those of you turning 24.
1.) You do not have to have your entire life figured out. In college I assumed my life would be ticked & tied at this point (let’s all laugh together….). It’s okay to still be in progress.
2.) Social media is a morphed reality, and is everyone on their best behavior (lol bc I am the QUEEN of this) . I so often find myself comparing my life to others through Instagram, Facebook etc. but seriously, no ones going to post them fist deep in some toll house cookie dough on their third binge hour of KUWTK (aka me once a week)
3.) It’s okay to not be okay sometimes. Key word, SOMETIMES, this is not to discredit getting help where help is due. Surround yourself by people who make you happy, who comfort you, and who support you (here’s looking @ you Philip). There’s nothing more important than having someone there to talk to after a straight up terrible day at work (don’t pretend you don’t have them, we all do.)
